On October 19, 1982, Richard A. Sandahl pled no contest to a charge of driving while intoxicated in violation of AMC 9.08.020(A). An additional charge of operating a motor vehicle without a valid Alaska drivers license was simultaneously dismissed by the prosecutor. The trial Judge sentenced Sandahl to serve one year in jail and imposed but suspended a $1,000.00 fine. In addition, Sandahls license was revoked for three years. Sandahls sentence was later modified to allow him to complete Humana Hospitals chemical dependency program, with credit against his sentence for time spent in the program. Sandahl appeals contending that his sentence is excessive. We affirm.
